060 Leeds Star Disk : Eclipse

The Leeds Star Disk for Light Night is a prototype of a much larger 3D sculpture that will be ready by the summer of 2010. We aim to do three things simultaneously collect and reuse 1000's of waste CD's enable hundreds (if not thousands) of people to participate in a landmark sculpture the result will be a beautiful piece of public art about ordinary people vision of the future of Leeds.

Come to Central Library on Light Night and bring your old CD's (we can't use them if they have paper labels) or simply turn up and record a CD with your ideas,visions and hopes for the City of Leeds.                 

They will all be added to the raw material of a Light Sculpture called the Leeds Star Disk. The finished sculpture will be sited in Harehills and form part of the annual community festival in the park.
