Swarthmore Education Centre seems to be one of Leeds little known gems.  For the last 100 years it has continued to offer people from all over Leeds the opportunity to enjoy and learn a wide variety of artistic skills. 

It seems fitting that Swarthmore’s Centenary year will be the first year that it takes part in Light Night. This fantastic occasion is magical and inspiring and Swarthmore hopes to enhance this evening with activities that all ages can take part in.  We will base these activities in Woodhouse Square, directly across from Swarthmore.  The centre piece will be an installation of sculptures created by learners in Swarthmore that depict activities that take place within the centre. You will be able to take part in drumming sessions, circus skills sessions as well as joining in with the candle lit procession round the park.  Towards the end of the evening we will also be releasing lanterns into the night sky which will end the night beautifully. 

To find out more and take part please make your way from Millennium square, along Great George Street and across the bridge to Woodhouse Square between 6:30pm and 8:30pm. You may even find yourself following an owl like trail?We look forward to meeting you!
